Established eight years ago, Dogwoof has steadily built a reputation in the United Kingdom as the top dog in documentary distribution. Last year Dogwoof Global was launched to represent filmmakers in the international markets and with titles such as Girl Model and Marina Abramović The Artist is Present currently on the sales slate a permanent presence in the USA is an instinctive progression.
Says Andy Whittaker, Founder of Dogwoof:
“Establishing an office in New York is a natural step for Dogwoof as we look to build our documentary brand globally. And we've been delighted with the support of the USA based filmmakers and partners since they heard we were coming across the pond.”
Whilst the main operations will be based in Clerkenwell, London; with Head of Distribution Oli Harbottle and Dogwoof Global representative Vesna Cudic increasingly at festivals – Tribeca and Hotdocs being the next stops – an office Stateside made perfect sense.
